SARASOTA, FL—Sarasota-based Audio Video Partners (AVP) announced today the successful installation of a major sound mitigation system at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota.
The new sound system delivers audio throughout the entire 15-acre park. It will be used primarily for making announcements related to opening and closing times, lightning warnings, background music and emergency paging needs.
According to Tony Liga, a Commercial Account Manager at AVP, the project included eighteen separate zones of audio and separate event input capabilities for special events. It required over ten thousand feet of outdoor-rated speaker wire in conduit, which was placed under existing planter beds and then connected to 140 landscape speakers throughout the park’s grounds.
“This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to design and build a background music and paging system for this treasured local non-profit organization,” shares Liga. “We really enjoyed working with the professionals at Selby Gardens as well as Bright Future Electric who handled the in-ground conduit portion of this project.”
"We are thrilled with the results of the sound mitigation system now in place at Selby Gardens" says Mark Elliott, Director of Facilities & Security at Selby Gardens. "The majority of feedback has been positive. It is easy to use and, most of all, our visitors like it. The team at AVP were knowledgeable and continue to work with us to fine tune the system.
